VetsOnCall – Dog Behavior, Cat Pneumonia: A Day's Work. Dogs not behaving, sick cats having difficulty breathing -- caring for pets is a day's work for Dr. Linda Randall, owner of Cloverleaf Animal Hospital of Ohio. In this Vets On Call story, Dr. Randall examines pet cat Mickey for chronic pneumonia, which if not treated promptly can be fatal. She recommends a proactive, preventive care approach to Mickey's owners to better control the condition moving forward.
Next Dr. Randall performs a check-up of her dog patients Gilda and Pico, who as young dogs were having issues with behavior and disobedience. Dr. Randall explains she recommends dog sports practice to many of her clients as an outflow of issues with obedience and behavior.
The dogs' owner Dee reports that the positive reinforcement training has changed her dogs' behavior, adding, "Your vet can do more than your yearly vaccinations, you've got to have a good relationship with your veterinarian."
Dr. Randall says she loves caring for pets because her clients become friends, and sometimes like family.
Veterinarians On Call is presented by Zoetis.
